Will AI Take My Job? We Asked the Experts: AI Engines

Picture

You've seen the alarmed headlines about Artificial Intelligence (AI) taking jobs.

Is AI a real threat to America's workers?

We decided to go right to the source and ask AI engines.

Will AI take my job? We queried ChatGPT and Writesonic (1/14/23):

ChatGPT was sanguine. Maybe even (intentionally?) anesthetizing:

"It depends on what your job is. Some jobs, such as those that involve repetitive tasks, are more at risk of being automated by AI. However, jobs that require creativity, critical thinking, and human interaction are less likely to be replaced by AI. It's also possible that AI may create new jobs that don't currently exist. The best way to prepare for the future of work is to develop skills that will be in high demand, such as problem-solving, teamwork, and the ability to adapt to new technology."

Chatsonic's Writesonic is a bit more pessimistic, at least for people in certain occupations:

"It is difficult to predict whether or not AI will take your specific job. AI is already replacing certain jobs in some industries, such as factory automation and GPT-3 being used for marketing and design. AI could potentially take over certain roles in the future, such as telemarketers, bookkeeping clerks, and cashiers. However, there are also many jobs that AI is not suited for, such as writing, social work, criminal defense law, and teaching. Ultimately, it is important to stay informed and upskill in order to remain competitive in the job market."
